Back to School

It is so hard to believe that the summer break is almost over! I think being home with my girl makes the time go even faster. Time flies when you are having fun right?! In some ways it will be good to get back into the routine of school and activities but who doesn’t love the freedom of summer break?

Am I the only one that gets a bit teary when I start to see leaves changing colour in late August? I have spotted some already and as much as I try to deny it, the summer is coming to an end. My daughter attends her one week of summer day camp next week, which will hopefully get us back into the routine of getting up, ready and out the door in the morning. This is not something that I am particularly good at lately since there is always one more thing to do before I leave the house. And with the luxury of no schedule, what’s the big rush?

Now is the time to find all those back to school deals (for your little ones and you!), sign up for after school activities and to start getting organized for the year ahead. If you are like me, you have already bought your kids their snowsuits (Costco has the best deal around here and only sells them in the summertime).

I am always a little sad to see my daughter go back to school in the fall. It means that she is yet another year older, another year smarter, another year more mature. We are so fortunate to be able to have her home with me in the summer, I will remember these days forever. Lazy, cuddly mornings and then fun in the sun all afternoon.

The beginning of school does however mean that I will again be able to get my house in order, maybe do some of the spring cleaning items that never actually got done. I would love to have some time to try some new whole food recipes that I have discovered. The timing is perfect since my hubby and I are doing our fourth round of the Whole 30 in September.

I’m also looking forward to continuing on my path towards personal training and seeing where it takes me. This is something that I truly enjoy and I hope to share my love of fitness and healthy living with others.

So while we keep the sun-kissed memories of summer in our hearts, let’s look forward to the opportunities of tomorrow.
