My Top Three Favourite Supplements

I used to pride myself on not using any supplements. Thought I didn’t need them and that I could get everything I needed from the food that I consume. Boy was I wrong!

If you are serious about wanting to improve your physique, get stronger and build muscle, then there are definitely some supplements out there that can help you.


The first of which has got to be a protein supplement. It is very difficult to consume the proper amount of protein (a minimum of .8 g per kg of body weight) from your diet without adding in some protein shakes. Whey or plant-based proteins are both good options. Try to look for options with as few unknown ingredients as possible and at least 20 grams of protein per serving.

You may notice that I didn’t include protein bars as a good alternative to shakes. Most store-bought protein bars contain large amounts of unwanted sugars. I have recently started making my own protein bars. How did I not try this before? They take five minutes and contain only five natural ingredients. Yum!


My favourite supplement has to be the BCAA’s that I have added into my daily routine. I absolutely love the energy boost I get for my workouts and had no idea what I was missing before. Branched-Chain Amino Acids are imperative for muscle growth and reducing soreness after your workouts.



The final supplement that I take regularly is creatine. I used to think that only the big powerlifters or big muscles guys took this supplement but then I tried it. Wow! Creatine will help improve athletic performance and increase muscle mass. I am now lifting heavier than ever and noticing more and more muscle definition. There is no going back for me.


Give one or all of these supplements a try if you are hoping to make some serious changes to your physique. Don’t expect changes though if you aren’t willing to put in the work. Keep moving every single day and always push and challenge yourself. You never know what you are capable of until you try!
